My hubby and I celebrated bringing in the new year with two friends (Beth and Meg) by watching Fantasia, Fantasia 2000, and a little of Deadliest Catch ending with watching the ball drop in NY all while eating pizza and knitting/crocheting (not hubby on the knitting/crocheting).

Hunter arrived on 1/1/11 in the evening and I haven't even finished his blanket or started any of the other items and will get that done as soon as I get the Linux Illusion Scarf done for hubby to give to a friend.

We had a wonderful Christmas spent with family. I received from my hubby and son a warm fuzzy housecoat, a tote to keep my yarn in, kangaroo keepers to keep my purse organized, an 8 GB card for my camera, and a $75 gift certificate to Mosaic (local yarn shop) I think I'm forgetting something.

My hubby wanted a Virgin Mobile Mifi and that's what he got.

We got out son 3 video games and renewed his subscription to Game Informer. He has received more from us since then but then again he is our one and only and we love to spoil him.

I did not met the requirements for being a Longaberger Consultant so back to looking for work but hubby did say that come February he would let me have the money to sign up as a Consultant so that I would get the kit and be able to do the home shows and I may take him up on it.

May the best of 2010 be the worst of 2011 and may you all be blessed.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03075493408772988141noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5047646429081786119.post-41971258513906699172010-12-16T12:56:00.000-08:002010-12-16T12:56:22.196-08:00Jobs and BabiesI am still looking for regular work however I have tried to sell Rainbow vacuum/air purifiers but that didn't work out.

I am now a Longaberger Consultant and you can shop on my on line store at http://www.longaberger.com/cathywilliams.

The last time I posted I mentioned three babies on the way well since then there is another one due (in May) and the December baby arrived December 1st. I am working on the January baby items. The December baby is a girl, the January baby is supposed to be a boy, The April baby is supposed to be a girl and the May baby is still unidentified.

Hubby's family Christmas was December 5th and it was a true Christmas party complete with snow.

My family Christmas party is this Saturday, December 18th and I can't wait to see everyone. This Saturday is also our Yeager club party but sadly we will not get to see our friends.

Today we awoke to snow and ice which made everything looks so clean and pretty white.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03075493408772988141noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5047646429081786119.post-62907743755136598342010-09-12T13:25:00.000-07:002010-09-12T13:45:43.716-07:00Paranormal, Trips & CelebrationsMy husband turned 46 last month and we celebrated 27 yrs of being together as well. I love him more and more each day. My son turned 16 yrs old this past Thursday and it seems like yesterday that I carried him home from the hospital. I sometimes miss the baby but yet I am so proud of the young man he has become.

Went on a paranormal investigation at Bluefield State College last month and had a great time with the team and we did have some experiences which left me puzzled. While watching the monitors with my partner we heard someone/something yell (no one around and no one admitted to yelling), we heard a low whistle like someone was in the room with us (again no one was around or admitted to doing it) then we saw someone/something peek around a door on another floor (no one was on that floor or in that area). I am still waiting to see if we got any EVPs (Electronic Voice Phenomenon) and if what we saw can be explained.

Three of my husband's cousins are expecting babies in the next few months, the first is due in December (a girl) then a boy in January and another baby was just announced so it is due in the next 9 months. I will be posting pictures of finished baby items as I get them done.

We went to Ohio this weekend for Ohio Linux Fest and the boys had a good time. I was looking forward to going on my bi yearly yarn spree but was side lined by a migraine unfortunately and will have to shop on line. We are happily home now and resting up for the busy day tomorrow of school and work.

I and a friend have started our own business of jewelry & accessories called Gem-Adorn Creations and you can find our page on Face Book with a web page to be announced soon. Some items will be our own creations and one of a kind other items will be mass produced items. We will be offering home parties and our hostesses can earn free gifts and percentage off their items.

May you all have a blessed week.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03075493408772988141noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5047646429081786119.post-5243857799576981232010-07-21T07:35:00.001-07:002010-07-21T08:02:41.122-07:00Socks

The socks that I made from the yarn that I kool aid dyed.

On the 14th of this month my hubby and I celebrated 20 yrs of marriage. It seems like we just got married. Next month we will celebrate 27yrs of being together, I don't feel that old. My son will be 16 yrs old in September and it seems like yesterday that I came home with him from the hospital. Pictured above right is my grandma Huff holding my son the day we came home. Grandma was 95 yrs old. It is one of my favorite pictures. I remember her being so happy at getting to see him and hold him. How she loved all her family. If the world were like her we wouldn't have to worry about anything.

May all be blessed.

Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03075493408772988141noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5047646429081786119.post-50239451118755085412010-06-24T10:32:00.000-07:002010-06-24T10:33:58.798-07:00Trips & Jobs

Still looking for work, the job I really wanted I didn't get. Had a phone interview this past Friday and a face to face this past Tuesday. Not really sure I want the Tuesday job.

We travelled to South Caroline for South East Linux Fest (SELF) June 11-13 and had a great time. I got the chance to go and knit with a bunch of lovely ladies from the Spartanburg Knitting Guild. One of ladies was kind enough to come to the hotel and pick me up and take me to the meeting and to a nice little yarn shop outside of town. I also met a couple of other ladies that knit/crochet at SELF. One of the ladies joined us at the Barnes and Noble for the knitting time.

I and my son made 360 sugar cookies to be handed out at SELF and they were a big hit with everyone.

I finished my socks from the yarn that I kool aid dyed in orange and cherry. I used the "Leaves of Whimsy" pattern.

July 19th was knit in public day, my local yarn shop had an event where we sat outside and knitted in the parking lot. She had a nice sale on all her yarns and knitting bags.

July 19th was also the USS Yeager/Rising Star Picnic which was held in Blacksburg at the Caboose Park. We had a great crowd and a good time with good food.

This Saturday I will be travelling with my hubby and father in law to Lynchburg for a home board meeting (The Odd Fellows & Rebekah Home). This will give me some knitting time.

It seems we stay busy during the month of June.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03075493408772988141noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5047646429081786119.post-50811832299609743172010-06-06T12:24:00.000-07:002010-06-06T12:37:00.898-07:00Birthdays and Purl JamThis past week I turned 46 yrs old it went by quietly. I spent my birthday knitting with friends and payed for my Purl Jam classes (knitting retreat) which was my birthday gift to myself. Friday night (6/4/10) was the meet and greet which was very nice and gave us a chance to shop a little. The vendors that were there had local hand spun and hand dyed yarns that were beautiful as well as some fibers for spinning which were beautiful. One vendor had beautiful jewellery. I learned how to knit socks from the toe up on Saturday morning then we had lunch and Violet from the podcast "Lime and Violet" was our keynote speaker. Violet was hysterical and we had a great time. The afternoon I learned to use my drop spindle and I am supposed to practice 15 minutes a day. After classes were over I went to see my cousins baby (the one I did the blanket "Cameron's Boats for) and he is so sweet and handsome filled with lots of smiles for everyone. May your days be filled with smiles and blessings.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03075493408772988141noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5047646429081786119.post-5343326081772888392010-05-13T06:48:00.000-07:002010-05-13T07:01:42.009-07:00Job HuntingI have been looking for work for the past seven months and have had a couple of interviews here and there but to no avail. This past Friday I received two phone calls one for a face to face interview which was on Tuesday and lasted an hour and a half. The second call was for a phone interview which I had on Monday and at the end of the conversation it looks like I will be called back for a face to face and I am hoping I will get the second job as it will give me the chance to learn something new and move up so here's praying for the job I want.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03075493408772988141noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5047646429081786119.post-75251152965339225602010-05-01T17:55:00.000-07:002010-05-01T18:08:38.724-07:00Life and some knitting.Seems I have been very bad in not keeping this up but now with a new laptop instead of my little netbook I might be more willing to write more often.

Christmas has come and gone. Christmas day was hard but we still had dinner with the Williams family. I think that the little note and drawing that my great niece gave to my father in law (her step great grandfather) cheered him up some.

In January my husband lost an aunt (sister to my mother in law), she will be missed by many in the community. In April my grandmother Winters passed away and she will be missed by many.

April also saw the marriage of my husbands aunt Doris to her highschool sweetheart. It was a sweet wedding.

In February my cousin's wife gave birth to a beautiful baby boy. I knitted a baby blanket called "Cameron's Boats" which turned out beautiful and matched the theme of the nursery. I also knitted a sweater and a hat.

I am now knitting a pair of socks called "Leaves of Whimsy" and a scarf.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03075493408772988141noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5047646429081786119.post-84483312040232947062009-11-22T18:19:00.000-08:002009-11-22T18:38:03.194-08:00HolidaysI find this post hard to write but not as hard as it would've been a month ago. On October 2nd my mother in law passed away, it has been a very sad and hard month for us but we are getting through it and my father in law seems to be doing well. I know that these first holidays will be the hardest for us all. My son was very close to his Memaw as he called her and I know he misses her very much.

I lost my job on October 9th and have been searching but no luck yet. I know that something will come along and soon.

Well Thanksgiving is this coming Thursday. I hope that everyone will have a happy Thanksgiving and will remember to count their blessings. The following is just a few of my blessings:

A loving husband and a son whom I am very proud of.

Parents that I love more than words can say.

Wonderful in laws who have showed me love.

Family & friends that are supportive and loving.

A roof over my head

Food on my table

Not having to do with out and the ability to help those that need it.

May each of you find the blessings in your life and be a blessing to others.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03075493408772988141noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5047646429081786119.post-22239198682647700092009-09-14T07:33:00.000-07:002009-09-14T07:40:59.208-07:00Surgery and LifeMy mother in law was diagnosed with gall stones on Saturday which means that she will have to have that surgery and recover before she has her open heart surgery and she is not doing well due to the gall stones and we are all worried about her.

I have another friend who has to have his gallbladder out this Wednesday and then in October he will have to have a small part of one of his kidneys removed because he has a place on it.

It can't just be one thing it has to be many.

I had a very nice weekend with no where to be or anything that I had to do. I did get to visit with my dad and his wife for a little bit which was nice. I have almost finished my second sock and will post a picture of my first pair when it is done.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03075493408772988141noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5047646429081786119.post-67907238055127187432009-09-09T05:25:00.000-07:002009-09-09T05:50:07.494-07:00Walt Disney World & BirthdaysToday is my son's birthday, he has turned 15 yrs old and has not been in trouble nor given us a lot of trouble and I am blessed that he is mine. Where did the years go? I remember bringing him home from the hospital and playing with him and teaching him to walk and talk then it was off to school and now here he is a sophmore in high school with a possible future in computers and a very sweet girlfriend who is a freshman in college. Boy do I miss those curios childhood days of chasing critters and playing knights.

We went to Disney for 6 nights and 7 days and had a blast. We took along our son's girlfriend so they could go and do what they wanted and we wouldn't have to worry about them. We left home on August 15th and stopped about half way for the night then arrived at our destination on August 16th. We stayed at the All Star Music Resort in Disney it was a very nice room but not a very big room. We had a package deal which was our hotel room, park passes to all 6 parks (this includes the 2 water parks), the meal plan which means we had a counter service meal, a snack, and a table service meal per person for 6 days we also had the line passes which put us in the front of the line.

We spent a lot of time in the Magic Kingdom but we truly enjoyed Epcot the most. While in Epcot we enjoyed the following: We went on Soar which was a blast it's like you are floating over the landscapes and seeing all the sights. We also did "Honey I Shrunk The Audience" which was a blast, this was 3D and you were a part of the show as they made it feel like mice running up your leg and the dog sneezing on you and the small child carrying you around. We also did the Mars training which was great. My dh and I never did make it to the Hollywood Studios park and none of us ever made it to the water parks. My dh and I did make it to Downtown Disney and got to see the Lego store and all the cool Lego sculptures.

I got a lot of knitting in while traveling and resting in the hotels.

On September 21st my mother in law will have her 2nd open heart surgery in less than a year. This past Novemember they went in and tried to repair her heart valve but that did not work so now they must go in and replace it and I am praying that it will work.

On September 25th we including son's girlfriend we leave for Ohio Linux Fest in Columbus for the weekend. I am a little apprehensive about going since my mother in law will still be in intensive care but my husband is a coordinator for this event. I will get to go do some yarn shopping while there which I always look forward to doing.

May you each be blessed.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03075493408772988141noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5047646429081786119.post-82913581097512585912009-07-14T12:16:00.000-07:002009-07-14T12:20:52.890-07:00AnniversaryToday is our wedding anniversary. We got married 19 yrs ago today (it was a Saturday). On that day my mom left my dad but both walked me down the isle and both gave me away. I love my husband even more than I did on that day though we have been through some rough times but we have made it and we will always be together.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03075493408772988141noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5047646429081786119.post-53199424595655252442009-07-13T13:15:00.000-07:002009-07-13T13:31:24.155-07:00WeekendsOkay so I thought (big mistake) wow a whole month of weekends that I don't have to be anywhere or do anything except for one day every other weekend to help my friend well that isn't the case since my mother in law (who I love very much) decided to have a yard sale the first and second weekend and now this coming weekend. Then my son and his friends talked me into coming and playing Dungeons & Dragons 3.0 and Paranoia (role playing games) with them (I used to play AD&D back in my younger years) on Saturday night which I did and we had a great time. I then went Sunday and helped out my friend by taking her grocery shopping. My friend had double ordered some knitting books and shared with me the extras she also gave me a small Namaste case to store knitting extras in which is very nice. The 25th of this month is a picnic with the Yeager group at the Caboose Park in Blacksburg. Then August 1st we will be in Bluefield, WV for Lemonaide Days. August 8th we will be at my hubbys family reunion and August 15th-23rd we will be in Disney World, FL. Free weekend I have no idea what that means.

This past Thursday was my dads wife's Birthday and I have finished on piece of her birthday gift and need to go see her this week and give her what I have done and let her know she will get the rest as I get them done.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03075493408772988141noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5047646429081786119.post-24018858668353169162009-06-26T06:30:00.000-07:002009-06-26T06:43:52.454-07:00Marrige & DeathWell it's been a busy time the past couple of months. I finished my Lace Ribbon Scarf and as soon as it's blocked I will take pictures and post them. The owner of Mosaic (local yarn shop) had her baby girl on June 10th and both are doing great. My friend with the stroke and I went in together and got the mother a diaper bag from L.L. Bean which will make a nice knitting bag in a few years. My friend that had a stroke got to go to her son's wedding (he's my friend as well) and she even got to dance with him at the reception. I wish that we could've gone but we already had plans to be in South Carolina for South East Linux Fest (SELF '09). While dh and ds were enjoying themselves at the computer convention I went out and knitted with a local yarn shop for Knitting in Public day and then did a little shopping at their shop. I have almost finished a baby sweater for a co worker who's wife is due in November and learned over the past weekend that one of my cousins wife is expecting their second child in Febuary so I will be starting a layette set for them soon. Yesterday a friend of mine passed away from her long battle with cancer she will be missed by all. This friend was an amazing and loving woman who taught my son some piano before she got to sick to continue with it.

May you all be blessed.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03075493408772988141noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5047646429081786119.post-9568838057184357132009-05-03T12:32:00.000-07:002009-05-06T06:10:40.893-07:00Walt Disney World

We are going to Disney World in August and taking my son's girlfriend with us. My mom gave my son a chocolate/peanutbutter egg and $20 for Easter. My brother and his family were unable to come since they were spending the day at my sister in laws mother's house so my son was the only child at my mom's thank goodness he is entertained with his computer and they have wireless.

My youngest uncle will be 60 yrs old next month and his wife is giving him a surprise birthday party which will be fun. There is only a 15 yr difference between his age and mine so he has always been like an older brother to me rather than an uncle and I will be finding the right gag gift just for him.

Went to visit my friend on Saturday for a few hours and unpacked a few more of her kitchen items to make more room for her in there. We spent the majority of the time just talking and she seems to be doing well and getting stronger.

May all have a great day.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03075493408772988141noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5047646429081786119.post-83126458615657288422009-04-07T10:56:00.001-07:002009-04-07T11:07:47.953-07:00FriendsWell once again it's been awhile but my friend is home. She was moved home on Friday, March 27th and is doing good. Sunday I and another friend went to visit with her and got her living room fixed up so she can get around in it and get to needed items and then we went grocery shopping for her. We were getting ready to leave when we realized the door had been left open and we couldn't find her declawed cat but no worries the poor dear was hiding under the couch scared we were going to move them again.

The weekend of March 27th was Technicon (http://www.technicon.org) a Science Fiction convention at which I am the Dealers Chair and I also run the Yeager Table. The Yeager Table raises money to help with Rising Star (http://www.rising-star.org) which is a fall Science Fiction convention which raises money for a scholorship. A lot of my son's friends showed up and helped with moving tables, chairs and desks around. They are a great group of kids and were very polite. We all had a good time and a great turn out.

This past Saturday was our after Convention picnic which was very windy but not terribly cold. We had a good time there.

I am almost done with my son's Linux Illusion Scarf and hope to have it done in the next few days.

One of my other friends is pregnant with her 4th child so I will be starting a baby blanket for her and still have a wedding blanket to knit for a couple getting married in June. I feel like I do nothing but knit for babies and weddings.

May all have a blessed day.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03075493408772988141noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5047646429081786119.post-72946654350238011442009-03-01T12:34:00.000-08:002009-03-01T12:43:36.910-08:00Moving & SnowYesterday we packed up and loaded up our friend who had, had a stroke and was living at an Adult Home and took her back to her home only to find out a water pipe had busted and because of that the gas had been cut off. Her children knowing we were going to be doing this did not bother to get this stuff fixed so now she is back near us staying in a hotel till we can get things fixed which I hope will be in the next few days.

To make things worse I got up sick this morning with a fever of 100.8 and still feel yucky.

It is so pretty outside with the snow falling and everything is covered in white. They have already called schools off for tomorrow and I will probably stay home as well.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03075493408772988141noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5047646429081786119.post-21984035658050352452009-02-16T13:27:00.000-08:002009-02-17T18:10:51.038-08:00Christmas, New Year and Valentine's Day

I tried to post not long ago but it was lost in cyber space so here I am again.

Christmas was very nice. I received from my hubby a $50 gift certificate to Mosaic (my local yarn shop), a lantern moon knitting bag, a digital camera and the Denise Interchangeable Knitting Needle Set. Our son got an electric guitar and some games for his game systems. He also received enough money to get a PSP and some games for that. For my hubby I got a 16GB Flash Drive, Dremel Tool Set, a VA Tech Hoodie, Dress shirts and another tool set.

We spent most of Christmas Day at my mother in laws with family and friends. Lots of good food and great memories.

We spent New Years at home which was nice.

Valentine's Day is a day we don't normally celebrate but this year my hubby took me out to dinner on Friday night and gave me a pair of heart shaped Mystic Fire Topaz earrings then on Saturday while we were at Walmart he helped me purchase a new laptop by acer called Aspire One which is a very small laptop it weighs a total of 3lbs and will fit in a purse or if you have a large purse it could get lost in it. My hubby is one wonderful guy.

I finished hubby's scarf yesterday and took pictures which I will share later. I have now started one for my son. I am also working on a prayershawl for a friend who was hurt a week ago and had surgery this past Thursday.

My friend that had the stroke will be going home at the end of this month to live by herself and I am somewhat worried about her doing that but she is the one to make her own decisions.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03075493408772988141noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5047646429081786119.post-11419747509166654152008-12-23T08:38:00.000-08:002008-12-23T08:58:00.364-08:00Christmas at my mom'sThis past Saturday my mom had the family Christmas party at her house and there were 22 people, 5 of which were teens on down to a 2 yr old. We enjoyed good food and had fun playing Dirty Santa. My mom always gives my brother, his wife, 2 children and us (my dh, ds and me) our gifts that day as well. My hubby had asked for money which my mom gave him $200 and my son wanted a certain game for his PS2 which he recieved plus a sweater and pj's and $50 in cash. I got a top, a christmas turtleneck, a sweater, a fleece top, a Tommy Hilfiger (sp?) purse and a rolling bag to organize my knitting stuff. Do you say a little spoiled???...LOL. I can't wait till Christmas morning to see my son's face when he see's what he's getting this year and I can't tell yet in case he finds and reads this. I still have some wrapping to do and will work on that tonight and tomorrow. I have already wrapped dh's and ds' and they are all under the tree. I will be spending most of Christmas day at my mother in laws cooking and enjoying my dh's family (I love them all as well as my own). We will go and visit with my dad and his wife Christmas Eve day for a little bit and then to visit my dad's baby sister. This is the time of year that I truly miss a lot of my family but have very fond memories of Christmas' past.

When I was growing up we used to go to my grandparents (The Hale's) on Christmas morning where we would eat breakfast which consisted of eggs, bacon, ham, sausage, gravy, biscuits, fried apples and then after all that we would have homemade cinnamon rolls with homemade icing. After breakfast we would gather round the Christmas Tree and open gifts. I miss those days and my grandparents.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03075493408772988141noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5047646429081786119.post-5684527142822369482008-12-18T12:02:00.000-08:002008-12-18T12:06:33.948-08:00KnittingI was just reading a past blog of mine and realized that I haven't updated the progress of my friend who had the stroke back in May. Warden is like a Jr. Vice President and part of my job is to visit lodges in the state of VA and share with the members the different programs that the Odd Fellows and Rebekahs support. I will serve next year as Vice President and then as President.

I am no longer Convention Chair for Rising Star but am still serving as an advisor to the ConChair and as Dealers Chair. I am also Dealers Chair for Technicon 26. You can find out more about these at http://www.rising-star.org and http://www.technicon.org.

The week of Thanksgiving was a very stressful and sad week for my family and friends, my mother in law had open heart surgery the Monday of Thanksgiving week, one friend lost his grandmother and another friend lost his mother in law. My mother in law is home and doing great and will make this a great Christmas.

I have been spending lots of time with family and friends celebrating Christmas the past couple of weeks. My husband's family celebrates on the first Saturday of December with a pot luck dinner that is enough to feed a small army and a gift exchange, then the Monday following I celebrated with my International Association of Administrative Professionals chapter, we had good food and did a gift exchange. On that Wednesday the office had a luncheon and that night the Campus Scouts had a supper.

Then on Saturday December 13th my hubby, son and I went to WV to celebrate with friends from our StarFleet chapter where we have lots of good food and exchange gifts and one of the fun things we do is a dollar exchange where everyone who wants to join in the fun brings a dollar gift and we put our names in a pot and someone draws out two names and those two people exchange their gifts, I enjoy going and picking out the little dart guns or something that you can shoot or spin or drive. Sadly on the Sunday after this event one of our friends from this group passed away and will be missed by us all.

This Saturday is my family Christmas at my mom's home and I can't wait to see all the family, 25+ people will invade my mom and her hubby's home (she remarried) where we will get to spend wonderful time together, eat good food and play dirty Santa, you put the packages in the middle of the floor and then everyone draws a number, the person with the number 1 goes first and opens a gift of choice then the person with number 2 can take the opened gift or open another if person number 2 takes the first person's gift then the first person gets to open another gift and then the person with number 3 can take person number two's or one's gift then that person can take the other person's gift (3 takes 1's and then 1 can take 2's) or 3 can open another but a gift can only be stolen 3 times and this can get right down funny and is lots of fun after the last person has gone the person with the number 1 can keep their gift or trade with someone else. There are 6 children (2 teens, 2 almost teens, 3 yr old and a 2 yr old) which most of us buy for since the game is really for the adults.

My son who is 14 yrs old has only asked for video games this year and some accessories for his video camera maybe getting an electric guitar and maybe if I can find an affordable Ipod one of those as well, he is very deserving of this items as he has been a big help to his grandmother (my mother in law) and granddad not to mention he has been a big help to me as well. My hubby deserves a good Christmas too and I hope to make it so.

Wishing all a very Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year. May you be safe as you travel and may your time with family and friends be great.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03075493408772988141noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5047646429081786119.post-80270568110633388042008-06-28T14:06:00.000-07:002008-06-28T14:18:23.893-07:00Purl JamOk it's been a week since Purl Jam and let me tell you I had a blast and was very tired this week.

I got to meet Cornelia Tuttle-Hamilton, Annie Modesitt and Jared Flood (Brooklyn Tweed). What a great group of teachers they are. Each has their own style and ideas which made it fun and extremely interesting.

Jared is a very talented and bright young man who taught us how to make seamless sweaters. Jared also taught us how to do cables without using extra needles.

Cornelia was a very gracious and lovely lady who I truly enjoyed talking with and having dinner with. Cornelia taught me how to measure for better fitting socks and I wish I could've taken more of her classes.

Annie Modesitt was a blast full of fun and she taught us her little tips and tricks plus how to read a chart while starting a lace scarf.

I really wish that my friend who had, had a stroke could've been there with me for the whole weekend since she paid for it and was looking forward to it as much if not more than I was. She did make it for lunch on Saturday and got to meet the instructors which was great and she had good time. On the good news side she is able to hold/pick up a size 35 knitting needle and I look for her to be knitting again soon.

Gina (owner of Mosaic Yarn Shop in Blacksburg, VA) did a great job and we look forward to the next one.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03075493408772988141noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5047646429081786119.post-28244792790157586592008-06-11T17:52:00.000-07:002008-06-11T18:14:00.388-07:00BabiesOk so I haven't been faithful to writing but here I am. My honorary granddaughter was born on June 4th, 10 days early and I haven't finished anything for her or seen her yet but will soon. We have been puppy sitting a 7 month old miniature dochshound (sp?) this week and the puppy will go home tomorrow evening. She has been a joy and full of energy. She will be missed but we will enjoy getting back to our normal lives. I received a phone call Monday from my dad's wife (married when my son was 3 yrs old) she had baked me a cake with chocolate icing that she makes and a loaf of sourdough bread that she also makes from scratch plus she gave me a beautiful necklace that has a single line of 4 CZ's going down to a large light blue square stone on a silver chain and my dad gave me money. My in laws gave me a very nice outfit. Next week is Purl Jam (knitting retreat) and sadly my friend s unable to go with me even though she is doing so much better, she will not be out of the hospital till the day it starts and feels she will not be up to it. My friend has donated her classes to someone who wanted to go but couldn't afford it.

May all have a blessed day.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03075493408772988141noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5047646429081786119.post-69277042472879981242008-06-01T19:01:00.000-07:002008-06-01T19:11:27.833-07:00BirthdayTomorrow (June 2nd) will be my 44th birthday. I have to work tomorrow, oh fun.

My mom took me, my hubby, son and one of her sisters out to brunch today to celebrate my birthday. She gave me a $100.00 and a pretty little necklace. The $100 will go toward the yarn and knitting supplies that I will need for Purl Jam (knitting retreat). My hubby and son have given me a brief case & day planner (things I wanted) to use for my next three years in office.

I went to visit my friend today and she is now able to stand without help for a few minutes this is a big improvement and I am praying that she will continue to improve.

May all be blessed today.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03075493408772988141noreply@blogger.com0
